Songkran Thailand

All countries renowned distinct feast and festivities that we inherit from our ancestors. In Thailand, one of the most populous and renowned festivities is Songkran Festival. This festivity originally brought on the Northern part of Thailand by the Burmese. It is also practice in the countries in the North for instance Burma, Vietnam, Lao State and more. Songkran comes from the Sanskrit word "Samkranti" (astrological passage) which means "a move or change".

Songkran Thailand is renowned for 3 consecutive days and nights starting from April 13 up to 15. It is one of the longest holidays in Thailand. It has similarity in one of the festivity in India known as Holi. You'll be dumbfounded on how Thai commemorate this once a year event. The preparing is really overwhelming!

Before the actual start date of Songkran, Thai citizen especially the housewives were busy cleaning their house. All the rubbish in the house must strictly removed. They have this confidence that it might bring them bad luck if they keep junk inside their house. Not only that, all Buddha images must be thought about washed with scented water so that good fortune will truly on their way ahead.

Compared with other festivities that are renowned in Thailand, Songkran is said to be the best! It focuses not on the earthly enjoyment but rather on the spiritual happiness. In fact, during this time traditionalists and religious extremists give their time to visit the Buddhist Monasteries to do devotional prayer. They also offer alms to the monks and feed them during this event. Thai also build chedis or the sand pyramid that is festooned with colorful designs like flowers and flag lets.

For some tourists it is merely throwing water, but to those who understand the meaning of this event it is one way of rejuvenating and cleansing. Since Songkran is known as Thai's New Year, they should renew and cleanse their body, heart and mind for them to receive the overflowing graces for the whole year. Aytthaya - Capital City Of Thailand

Ayutthaya is an aged capital city of Thailand and it was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350. It stayed as the capital of Thailand for nearly 417 years. Ayutthaya was ruled by 33 kings of five dynasties. The city was named for Ayutthaya after the home of Rama from the Indian epic Ramayana, and it means the undefeatable.

During the first 180 years, Ayutthaya was a very peaceful city and did not get into wars with the neighboring countries. The main action of the city was trading. However, after the death of King Ramathibodi I, for the first time, the city got complicated in a war with Myanmar in 1529. Thereafter, the city ended up fighting many wars. Ayutthaya was first defeated by the Burmese in 1569. After fifteen years, the city was regained by the King Naresuan. The city continued to flourish for the next 118 years and after which it was invaded and destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767. The capital was later moved to Thonburi by King Tuskin who defeated the Burmese. After his reign, the capital was shifted to Bangkok by King Rama I.

Kathin Ceremony is one of the merit production festivals in Thailand. The ceremony is about contribution new robes to the monks who live in the Buddhist temples. The full name of this festival is "Thot Kathin". The meaning of the word "Thot" is to production an contribution to a monk and the word "Kathin" means an exaggeration frame.

The Kathin Ceremony is held after the end of three month Rains stepping back from July to September. Population celebrate an annual presentation ceremony every year soon after the end of rainy season. They distribute clothes, money, kitchen tool and other tools to monks.

The Limestone Mountain Range of Indochina

Have you ever seen Goldfinger, the superior 007 thriller that, after one of the biggest car and boat chases in Hollywood history, ends up among the mysterious and beautiful islands of the Andaman Sea, where Dr. No has his evil headquarters?

Limestone is known for forming spicy and beautiful formations colse to the world: normally caves, but occasionally cliffs and mountains as well. One of the properties of limestone is that (geologically speaking anyway) it erodes swiftly in water. While water erosion may take tens of thousands or even millions of years to furnish some other rock formations such as the Grand Canyon, limestone formations will convert even within hundreds of years, depending on their size.

Thailand Travel

The largest swath of limestone mountains and cliffs extends from Southeast China (you can see them in prints and brush paintings as nearly vertical hills), and runs through Vietnam, Laos, Central Thailand, Southern Thailand, and ultimately through the Andaman Sea down into Sumatra.

Though all of these formations are impressive, it is the island formations that are the oddest: not only are their bases eroding in the sea, giving some an inverted island effect, they are also being bombarded by wet sea breezes and storms. Some of the islands, like Chicken Island for example, are very odd indeed, while other formations such as cliff caves that are part of bigger islands will contain hidden lagoons and other such exotic features.

Islands in the Andaman sea, and all limestone mountains in fact, are doomed to one day crash back down to land. In the sea, the process is quicker and many cliff faces on the islands oddly lean toward the sea. Some of these have large faces painted on them, watching over the security of the fishermen.

Albania is just a small country on the southeast of Adriatic Sea. Though small, it has a big story to tell about its past. Julius Caesar once passed by Albania when he went on a refuge with his army. Albania also suffered many years of dictatorship.

Traveling to Albania is a good way to palpate a Mediterranean way of life that is commonly just often read in books. This small country is led with eclectic religion and lifestyle among the settlers. And best of all, Albania is gifted with beautiful landscapes unseen everywhere else in the world.

If the Ionian Coast is good for diving opportunities, the Albanian coast offers wide range of sport activities. They offer activities like swimming, sailing, and strolling. an additional one excellent sport in this coast is the beach volley. Queen Suriyothai Of Thailand

Suriyothai was the Queen of Thailand. She was the wife of King Maha Chakraphat of Ayutthaya who reigned from 1549 to 1569. Suriyothai is considered as a Heroine of Thailand, who sacrificed her life while trying to save her husband while a battle.

King Maha Chakraphat was notable for his white elephants. He had a estimate of them and according to Brahminic beliefs, a monarch who had one or more white elephant was a seal of glory and success. It is believed that King Maha Chakraphat's reign was very successful.

The King ascended to the throne in 1549. After just six months, he was challenged by the King of Burma to a war. The King of Burma had a personal grudge towards the King and he wanted to capture the main city, Ayutthaya, which was the capital of Siam. while those days Thailand was called Siam.

The Siamese king could not let the challenge go and as the king, Maha Chakraphat led his army in defense of the capital. while those times women were not allowed to take part in wars. But Queen Suriyothai was involved about her husband's well being and wanted to be at his side while the battle. However, the King would not hear of it so Suriyothai disguised herself as a man and she joined her husband in the battlefield. while the battle, King Maha Chakraphat's elephant was killed and taking benefit of this Burmese king tried to kill him. However, Queen Suriyothai intercepted the charge and died in the bargain. When the Burmese King found out that he had killed a woman, he was very ashamed and immediately withdrew from the battle; leaving Ayutthaya to Siam.

The queen was looked upon as a heroine for sacrificing her life to save her husband's and is still venerated and revered in Thailand for her bravery.

Three Basic Guidelines For asset Hunting in Thailand

Here I will be giving my thoughts on where to start seeing once you have decided to buy property in Pattaya, Thailand. There are so many condominium complexes, apartment construction and housing projects being built, proposed and planned in Pattaya today that it can become somewhat over whelming, and at times a job to know where to start looking.

Firstly I'll give my insights on how to make seeing the right property in Pattaya as easy as possible. Now before embarking on the property hunt, you should have a clear set of goals of what you want your future home or venture property to consist of, make sure you know at least the three main essentials:

I know this may sound certain in the extreme but after working in the Pattaya real estate shop for many years it is surprising how many population start contacting estate agents before they have a clear idea of what they actually want and where they want it! What makes the task even harder here in Pattaya is that fact that Pattaya has such a broad range of properties on offer with an even broader range of prices.

You can find a one bedroom condo for 1 million Baht or one for 10 million. Houses range from under 1 million and climb all the way to 100 million Baht and beyond! And although Pattaya feels relatively small once you know your way around, it is still large and diverse adequate to have dramatically reflecting price differences. A three bedroom house with a pool and large organery might cost around 11 million Baht in the Huy Yai Area, but would cost close to 30 million on Pratumnak Hill.

Another thing I find entertaining with inherent property investors or holiday home buyers is the lack of study they put into location, and even as I cringe when I hear agents say it:

'Location Location Location' truly is key!

I would first propose anyone seriously seeing to buy property in Pattaya or the surrounding areas is to have a real good look around and try to get a good feel for the separate areas. Go and spend a day on Jomtien Beach and then return again in the evening to see how it compares. If it's a rental venture your reasoning about ask yourself if you'd be happy holidaying or renting in this area? Take time to survey the separate areas and see what's going on and all times of the day and night!

What to buy? Again this will depend on what you want from and your reasons for buying a property in Pattaya. There are also legal issues to take into catalogue when buying property in Thailand for example:

You can own an apartment in your own name as a foreigner but a house or land must be bought and owned in a Thai name or a Thai firm name. This is something any decent estate agent will be able to propose you on and I intend to cover this field in greater detail in my next article.

Obviously agents want to make a sale and help you find the right property, just make sure before hand you know what that is. I would even propose going to an agent with the three boxes to be ticked and see what they have on offer.

For example;

Max Budget? 5 Million Baht.

Location? As close to the beach as possible!

Property Type? At least a one bedroom apartment.

Above all else, buying a home or investing in property in Pattaya is an entertaining caress and should always be fun! It needn't be a chore or sick but be prepared to do a little homework and a lot of legwork and seeing your dream home will become a reality.

Is it Safe to tour to Thailand?

Over the last six months, Thailand has reached the headlines over the globe. In November 2008, the "Yellow Shirts" held the International Airport at Bangkok under siege, and over the last few weeks, the country has faced another national emergency, when the "Red Shirts" decided to fight back with their protests in Bangkok. Yet, in many areas of Thailand, all seems peaceful and quiet, and there are no signs of these political protests. No sign that is, apart from the concern and worry of the locals, and the quieter bars, restaurants and hotels.

The issues behind these protests are complex, but to put it as simply as possible:

Thailand Travel

The Yellow Shirts (also known as The People's Alliance for Democracy or Pads), agree with the idea of democracy, but also feel that habitancy need to have some understanding of the long term economic, social and political consequences of their vote. They believe that Thaksin used corruption to gain the vote of the majority habitancy of the rural regions of Northern Thailand, on the lead up to the 2001 elections that made him prime minister.

The Red Shirts, however, see Thaksin more as a Robin Hood character, who took from the rich and gave to the poor. They believe they would be financially better off both in the short term and the long term under the rule of Thaksin. Now, Thaksin faces corruption charges, and an unelected party and prime priest are ruling their country. As a result, they feel cheated.

Who is right and who is wrong is not for discussion here. We are currently more implicated with the impact these struggles could have on the economy of Thailand and on the number of tourists who want to visit. When the first major protests began in November 2008, many holidaymakers cancelled their trip, and having just recovered from the impact of the Tsunami, many businesses in the tourism industry of Thailand faced yet another season of lowering tourist numbers. The fallout from this is wide spread. Whole families rely on the revenue delivered by tourism to survive.

As such a high proportion of the habitancy in the tourist hotspots of Thailand survive on the revenue of tourism alone, the majority of the locals in these places want nothing but a peaceful resolution. They want foreigners to continue to regard Thailand as The Land of Smiles.

Whilst no one wishes to encourage you to walk into the middle of a conflict, I'm sure I'm speaking for the large majority when I ask you to consider the real impact of these struggles on your visit to Thailand. Neither the Reds nor the Yellows have an issue with tourists or expats, but if you are implicated about the recent troubles in Bangkok, I would like to feature that you do not need to fly to Bangkok if you wish to visit Thailand. You can fly from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi, or fly direct into Phuket. From there you can go level to your final holiday destination, where a warm welcome and a peaceful climate awaits - just as tourists have grown to expect from Thailand - The Land of Smiles.

What do most prosperous Western company owners in Thailand have in common? Well they have many things in coarse but the three most glaring and confident are discipline, patience and the ability to network with people efficiently. Possessing these three skills could be be called coarse knowledge for any company owner nearby the world but it's in even higher question in Thailand. company in Thailand requires these things from a man, without them success is a long shot.

Why is this and what's so leading about discipline in Thailand? Discipline is an absolute desire to get things done and to perfect a mission without comprise. The intoxicating snares that life in Bangkok or anywhere in Thailand has to offer can be wonderful without this skill.

Foreigners arrival to Thailand with a plan can swiftly lose focus by all the countless bars, nightlife activities, and women that are easily available.

Westerners arriving without a plan and no direction (thinking they will create a company plan later) will most likely be swallowed up by the relaxed Thai life style. Putting it off until tomorrow can swiftly turn into not doing it all. The ones that fit into this kind aimlessly wonder the streets of Bangkok, are at every party and conference or have their elbows propped up on bar table telling stories of bar girls.

Many can overcome the above mentioned scenarios by realizing their situation and doing something about it, whether by getting back on tract and remembering why they came to Thailand in the first place or creating a solid company plan.

Second, patience is needed. Doing company in Thailand requires self restraint when dealing with Thai's in positions of authority; especially in a difficult situation. Corruption runs deep in Thailand but retention firm on a company transaction that has obviously gone wrong without losing operate takes great skill. When seeing one's self in this situation be sure to point out differences in the agreement, got to their manager, let them know that the local papers, police, embassy and even a lawyer may be contacted. Thai's do not like to lose face or have their problems made collective and many will back down or renegotiate if confronted with the previously mentioned options.

Lastly, networking with others is just as leading as discipline and patience. Thailand is a very viral society and networking with others is easy. However, using those contacts efficiently to build a company is a whole other story. If a great resource is found, improve upon it and don't let it sit idle.

In closing, be as serious about company as you would in your own country. Stay away from the pitfalls, have patience, network with others, and prosperous company in Thailand will only be an sense away.

Wat Phumin of Thailand

Nan is one of the lesser known provinces of Thailand and it is placed in the northern part of Thailand in a valley surrounded by mountains. Due to its rough and difficult terrain, Nan was a small kingdom until the 20th century. The town of Nan has some gorgeous temples but the most famous is the cruciform temple called Wat Phumin.

According to experts, Wat Phumin was constructed in 1596 and it was restored to its old glory during the reign of King Chao Ananta Vora Ritthi Det, who ruled from 1867 to 1874. The temple is unique and spectacular in appearance.

Thailand Travel

Wat Phumin appears as if it was built on the backs of two heavy cobras. The temple, due to its cruciform shape, has four entrances. Just before each entrance, there is a corridor and the corridor is ornately decorated with carved doors. The door to the east has Chinese demon guards, the one on the north has flowers, while the doors on the south and west have Lanna-style decorations depicting the forest life.

Even the interior of the temple is ornately done. In fact, the interiors are thought about to be a fine example of Thai Lue architecture. The roof is supported by 12 pillar made up of teak. The pillars are decorated with elephant motifs and gold on a base of black and red lacquer. The ceiling of the temple is a masterpiece of embellishment and you will be left in awe staring at it.

Right in the town of the bot is a flowered altar on which there are 4 Buddha images in Sukhothai style. Each Buddha image face the four directions and they have their hand pointing towards the earth and the fingers touching the ground, what is known as the classic Buddha-Invoking-Mother-Earth-to-be-His-Witness style. Next to the altar is a seat meant for use by monks who are teachers.

The walls of the temple have murals which are gorgeous and colorful. The northern wall of the temple has scenes from Khattana Kumara Jataka while the western wall has scenes from the Nimi Jataka as well as those from the local life of that time. On the western door, there is a painting of a man whispering into a woman's ear, while the southern door has a portrait of a man, which is thought about to be that of King Chao Ananta Vora Ritthi Det.

K3 Visa Process - Do the National Visa Center's Policies Impact My Wife's K3 Visa Petition?

Many bi-national couples come to be bewildered by the Us visa process as there are many separate categories to choose from. The result of this relatively quick adjudication process is that I-130 petitions are commonly arriving either before their I-129f counterpart or at the same time. Should this happen, the I-129F application will be "administratively closed" and the combine will have no option but to seek either an Ir1 visa or a Cr1 visa.

As long as the Uscis is processing an I-130 petition in the same number of time as an I-129f application, the K3 marriage visa is difficult to secure because the supplemental I-129F petition will be administratively fulfilled, if it gets to the National Visa town at the same time or after the I-130 petition.

In a way, the National Visa town has devised an elegant explication to processing concerns as the K-3 type was designed to provide expedited processing if the adjudication of an I-130 is unduly delayed at the United States Citizenship and Immigration aid (Uscis). By only processing I-129f petitions for those marriage visas where the I-130 has seemingly yet to be processed by Uscis, the Nvc is addition the efficiency of their performance by not processing what is perceived to be a superfluous trip document while processing those I-129f petitions that fit with the former policy of creating the K-3 visa type in the first place.

Apartment/Condo rental at the Rimhard Jomtien Pattaya Thailand or as it's also known the Jomtien beach condominium.

Thailand Travel

This beloved condo is located on Jomtien beach road between Soi 9 and 11 and is beloved with tourists finding to rent apartments in Jomtien Pattaya Thailand.

Although getting on a minuscule 10+ years. The Rimhard is very well maintained and offers many facilities that some of the newer apartments for rent in Jomtien and Pattaya don't have.

For example: buildings S1 and S2 have on the ground floor a whole host of engaging shops and restaurants to look at and eat in. There are two swimming pools to pick from and a fitness room with contemporary up to date equipment. For added peace of mind there is 24Hr safety with roaming patrols.

The mean room size in construction S1 and 2 is 32sqm. Every room has a balcony that faces out to the beach. Some owners have joined rooms together so it is potential to rent a holiday apartment that's 64 or 96 sqm in size.

If you're mental about coming on holiday to Pattaya and you want to rent somewhere close to the beach then the Rimhard Jomtien offers good value. Prices vary from high to low season but compared to other condos for rent in Pattaya you a good deal. Most of the rooms ready for rent are fully furnished and have contemporary European kitchens.

A typical price you'd expect to pay in high season for a 32sqm apartment rental would be 16,000Baht for the month and in low season 12 - 13,000Baht that's a lot cheaper than staying in hotel. The location of the Rimhard couldn't be better. You're only a 5 minuscule walk from the beach at Jomtien where you'll find everything to help you relax and enjoy your holiday.

The beaches offer many forms of leisure such as traditional Thai massage. Once on the beach no need to leave and find somewhere to eat, they'll serve you food and drinks while you sit and enjoy the scenery. The cost of your chair is 30Baht. That's all day! The mean cost of a Thai meal served to you on the beach is just 70Baht. Where else can you spend so minuscule on holiday and get so much??

Another theorize why the Rimhard condo is so beloved with citizen is: You're far away from the hustle and bustle of Pattaya city yet only a 10minute drive away by local baht bus. Cost: 20Baht! These baht buses run on a quarterly bases so no waiting around. On mean one passes by every combine of minutes.

In all I would propose any one considering holidaying in Pattaya to reconsider the Rimhard condo as a holiday rental apartment. As all the time and this is where this is a minuscule different. There is a down side. The Rimhard involved is made up of buildings S1, S2 and buildings A1, 2, 3, and 4. The buildings in the A blocks are smaller at 26sqm and they are very close together. Come and rent or buy a room in construction S1 or 2 a great location but stay away from the others, they're cheaper to rent but you only get what you pay for! Also in 2009 a road is being built straight through the middle of the task effectively cutting the task in half. Only buildings S1 and 2 will have direct access to the beach.

K1 Visa - Thailand healing and Visa Fees

In Thailand, as in all other countries of the world, the application fee for a Us non-immigrant visa is 1 or Thb 4,454, which can be paid at any of the 248 designated post offices scattered all over the nation.

Formally Ao Phra Nang ("Princess Bay") although everybody uses the short form, Ao Nang is the most 'Westernized' beach in Krabi, originally a backpacker hotspot but now moving slowly upmarket as the airport brings in higher flyers. While not quite as scenic as Rai Leh, there is a good range of cheap accommodation, many good restaurants, easy transport and travel/tour agencies ready to cater to your every whim, making it a good base for exploring Krabi. Orienting yourself in Ao Nang is easy: almost everything is located either along the beach, which runs west-east, or along the Airport Road (Highway 4203) which goes up north from the east end of the beach. Long-tails arrive on the beach near the junction of the two roads. Must See in Ao NAng Fossilized seashell concret. Fossil Shell Beach (Thai Su-san Hoi, literally "Seashell Graveyard"). Some 7 km west of Ao Nang, this mildly traplike tourist attraction has slates of compressed 40 million year old shellfish, which bear not a small resemblance to concrete. There's also a small grubby museum and a huge slew of gift shops. Entry is a steep 200 baht for foreigners - but only 20 baht for Thais. This Tourist Trap is simply not worth the 200 Baht you have to pay as tourists unless maybe if you are a geology student. Nopparat Thara Beach.
